BSES envisages to install over 1000 solar rooftops in next fiscal year
A joint venture of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd & Government of NCT of Delhi, BSES is planning to install over 1000 solar rooftops , saving approximately Rs110 crore annually. The electricity provider BSES has already energised 6,000 solar rooftops installations.

The incredible response towards the utilisation of renewable sources has encouraged the entity to proceed for further installations. The highest number of rooftop solar connections are in the domestic segment[3,650], followed by commercial [1,087], educational[939], industrial[85], and others[129]. The highest energised installed load is for a commercial segment with 57MWp, which is followed by educational[45 MWp], industrial[6 MWp], and others segments[11 MWp].
The major consumer benefit is offloading hefty electricity bills, with connections ranging from a sanctioned load of 1 KW to over 4,000 KW. The rooftop solar panel not only reduces electricity bill but contributes for a healthy eco-friendly environment.

A typical 10KW of rooftop solar connections with a monthly consumption of 1,200 units every month can save around Rs 82,000 annually. This initiative will surely help to fulfill the prospect of Renewable Purchase Obligation[ RPO]. Additionally it will reduce the congested discom meter poll installation in narrow lane areas.
