Chairman, CIL interacted with Mr. Eric Mortensen, Head, Large Mining Trucks, Caterpillar Worldwide.
USA: Shri. Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL and Dr. B. Veera Reddy, Director Technical, CIL visited The Tinaja Hills Demonstration & Learning Center of Caterpillar at Tucson in Arizona.
The centre specialises in showcasing the use of its Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) in real mining conditions at the erstwhile copper mine, which has been customized for the purpose.
Chairman, CIL interacted with Mr. Eric Mortensen, Head, Large Mining Trucks, Caterpillar Worldwide.
The discussions ranged from various technical presentations of the latest models of HEMM to innovative technologies of the future.
Dignitaries from CIL witnessed the demonstration on a Digital Mine, in which machines interact with each other, under a unified "Command".
A Test drive on the latest model CAT 794 (320 Ton) was the culmination of the visit.
While appreciating the technological advances, Chairman, CIL desired an in-depth discussion on various issues in a seminar to be organised by CIL in the near future.
