EPFO to Auto Credit ₹1,000 PF Balances from Inactive Accounts; 1.33 Lakh Members to Benefit
New Delhi: In a major relief for EPF members, the Central Board of Trustees, EPF has approved a pilot project to automatically settle inoperative EPF accounts with balances of ₹1,000 or less.
The decision was taken during the 239th meeting of the CBT, aiming to help members receive long-pending small balances quickly without filing claims.
Direct Bank Credit Without Claims
Under the new initiative, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will directly transfer the balance to members’ Aadhaar-seeded and EPFO-linked bank accounts, eliminating the need for fresh applications or documentation.
