Under the MoU, both agencies will work together to develop operational intelligence and support investigative agencies in preventing financial crimes, protecting digital transactions, and facilitating asset recovery. The agreement also aims to establish robust feedback mechanisms to enhance fraud detection protocols across the country.

A key focus area of the partnership includes developing and sharing guidelines and red-flag indicators with financial institutions. This initiative is expected to strengthen early detection and prevention of cyber fraud, ensuring better protection for consumers and businesses.

Officials described the agreement as a milestone in adopting a “whole-of-government” approach to combat cybercrime. The collaboration will also support real-time intelligence sharing and improved coordination among law enforcement agencies, banks, and financial institutions.
