New Delhi: India's coal production reached a new high in April 2023, with a record production of 73.02 million tonnes (MT), according to reports. This growth is a significant rise from the previous year's production of 53.47 MT in April 2022, representing an increase of 7.67 percent as reported by Coal India Ltd (CIL). This increase in coal production is likely to have a significant impact on the country's energy sector, particularly given the high demand for coal in India.
The country's coal output has been steadily increasing in recent years, with the government pushing for greater coal production to meet growing energy demands.
