IPS Officer Love Kumar Appointed as IG in Special Protection Group
Love Kumar is a 2004-batch IPS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Currently, he is posted as a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the SPG.
New Delhi: As per an official statement released by the Department of Personnel and Training, Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Love Kumar has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) in the Special Protection Group (SPG) for a period of two years.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment from the Office of the Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat.

The Special Protection Group (SPG) is a special force in India responsible for providing security to the Prime Minister, former Prime Ministers, and their immediate families.
