ISRO to launch Earth observation satellite EOS-05 from Sriharikota tomorrow
Bengaluru, 3 September: ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan has announced that the EOS-05 Earth observation satellite will launch tomorrow. The satellite is scheduled to launch at 2:55 a.m. aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket from Sriharikota's Satish Dhawan Space Center.
Mr. Narayanan described EOS-05 as a cutting-edge Earth observation spacecraft and India's first imaging satellite to be placed in geosynchronous orbit. He stated that the mission will strengthen India's Earth observation capabilities and enhance the delivery of Earth observation services.
The ISRO Chairman spoke to the media yesterday after offering prayers at Tirumala's Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. Before praying, Mr. Narayanan placed models of the GSLV-F17 rocket at Lord Venkateswara's feet.
He stated that all launch preparations had been completed at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.
