Bhopal, January 15, 2026: The Government of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India BHASHINI Division to integrate multilingual artificial intelligence solutions into the state’s digital governance platforms.

The agreement was formalised during the Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Bhopal, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The partnership aims to enhance citizen access to public services by deploying BHASHINI’s language technologies, translation APIs and AI-powered tools across government portals and applications.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Yadav said the state would soon roll out a comprehensive State AI Policy in mission mode, positioning artificial intelligence as a core enabler of citizen-centric governance. He stressed that multilingual platforms such as BHASHINI will be critical in extending digital services across linguistic and regional boundaries.

Under the collaboration, BHASHINI will support the rollout of voice-first and multilingual AI solutions across Madhya Pradesh’s digital ecosystem, improving accessibility, inclusivity and last-mile service delivery. The initiative aligns with BHASHINI’s national mandate of embedding Indian languages into Digital Public Infrastructure.

Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and IT and CEO of IndiaAI, said language datasets are vital for building robust AI systems and that BHASHINI enables seamless translation across Indian languages, strengthening the delivery of government services.

Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary of the state’s Science & Technology and Urban Development & Housing departments, said the integration would allow governance platforms to function smoothly in multiple Indian languages, ensuring equitable access for citizens from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

The conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, academia and central agencies to discuss responsible and inclusive AI adoption in governance.
