Maharashtra Signs ₹500-Crore Investment MoU With Carlsberg at Davos
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday presided over the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Maharashtra (GoM) and global brewing major Carlsberg, marking a significant foreign investment commitment in the state’s food and agro-processing sector.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Jacob Aarup-Andersen, Chief Executive Officer of Carlsberg, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos.
Under the agreement, Carlsberg will invest ₹500 crore in Maharashtra, a move expected to generate around 750 new employment opportunities. The investment will focus on sustainable and long-term projects aligned with the state’s industrial and agricultural development priorities.
State officials said the partnership reinforces Maharashtra’s position as a preferred destination for global investors, particularly in value-added agro and food-based industries. The project is also aligned with the government’s broader agenda of promoting employment generation, sustainability, and industrial growth.
The MoU adds momentum to Maharashtra’s investment outreach at Davos, where the state has been engaging with global corporations to attract capital and technology-driven growth.
