Mumbai:  Mahindra & Mahindra Limited on Thursday announced a key leadership transition in its senior management as part of its succession plan.

The company informed stock exchanges that Mr. Ruzbeh Irani, President – Group Human Resources, will retire from the company with effect from the close of business hours on April 1, 2026, upon reaching the age of superannuation, ending a distinguished career of over 19 years with the Mahindra Group.

Succeeding him, Mr. Rohit Thakur will be appointed as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and will become part of the company’s Senior Management Personnel with effect from April 2, 2026.

Mahindra expressed deep appreciation for Irani’s exceptional contributions, acknowledging his pivotal role in shaping the group’s people strategy and leadership culture during his tenure as President – Group Human Resources and member of the Group Executive Board.

Rohit Thakur currently serves as CHRO for Mahindra’s Auto and Farm Sector. His career spans leadership roles at several global organisations, including Accenture India, Microsoft India, and GE, where he held senior HR positions across multiple sectors in India and the United States. He has also led HR functions at LEAD School and Paytm. Thakur holds a commerce degree from SRCC, Delhi, and an MBA in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur.
