Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) on Monday celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day with much fervour, celebrating a momentous performance during the last financial year.

A series of events were organised at the company headquarters, beginning with a “Run For Excellence”, in which all the Functional Directors, former Chairman-cum-Managing Directors (CMD), employees and their family members participated.

Shri OP Singh, CMD, greeted ‘MCL Parivaar’ on 32nd Foundation Day of company and appreciated one and all for stupendous performance as a team during financial year 2022-23.

“It is matter of great joy and satisfaction that our company has achieved all its targets much before time and contributed to ensure energy security in the country,” Mr Singh said, congratulating all the employees of company and contractors’ workers.

Expressing his gratitude to the former leaders of the company for their contributions, the CMD also thanked the Ministry of Coal, Coal India and Odisha state administration for supporting MCL in its endevours to help country meet the power demands.

Former CMDs Shri SN Sharma, Shri AN Sahay, Shri BN Shukla and Shri PK Sinha, along with Shri Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), Shri PK Patel, Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri JK Borah, Director (Technical) and Shri Ajit Kumar Behura, Director (Finance) were prominent among senior officers participating in the celebrations.

A customary lecture series on the occasion, a renowned motivational speaker Dr Sonu Sharma enlightened company employees on his “Nine Success Principles”. Employees from operational areas and trade union representatives also joined the session.

Renowned playback singer from Bollywood, Ms Shilpa Rao starred at the live concert and mesmerised a large gathering of employees and other people with her popular songs in her velvet voice.
