Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today observed International Labour Organizations’ ‘World Day for Safety and Health at Work’ with Chairman cum Managing Director Shri O P Singh unfurling the safety flag at company headquarters in Sambalpur.

Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today observed International Labour Organizations’ ‘World Day for Safety and Health at Work’ with Chairman cum Managing Director Shri O P Singh unfurling the safety flag at company headquarters in Sambalpur.
Shri Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), Shri A K Behura, Director (Finance), Shri P K Patel, Chief Vigilance Officer, senior executives, and other employees were present on this occasion.

Shri Singh congratulated all for record coal production and despatch in the previous financial year and also remembered the coal martyrs for their contribution towards securing energy security for the nation.

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, which is one of the major coal producing companies in India. It is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, a state-owned coal mining corporation.
MCL operates in the Odisha state of India and has several coal mines under its management, including the Talcher coalfield, which is one of the largest coalfields in the country. The company produces both thermal and metallurgical coal, which is used in power generation and steel production, respectively.
MCL has a strong focus on sustainable mining practices and has implemented various measures to minimize its environmental impact. It has also undertaken several initiatives to improve the quality of life for the communities in and around its mining areas, such as building schools, hospitals, and providing employment opportunities.
