MECL witnesses 48 percent progress in terms of Exploration and Drilling

Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited has made a whopping progress of 48% in its parameters of Exploratory Drilling.

The state-owned unit has represented the figures which include a progressory report of achievements in Mineral exploration and drilling factors. The organization represents a span of 48% growth in the trajectory stance of the previous and current financial years.

It shows an achievement of a milestone with 3.48 lakh meters of exploratory drilling.  The company also represents diverse exploration targets including Energy, Fertilizers, Base metals, and Industrial minerals.

Some significant work for critical and strategic minerals has been also done. The official post of the company has also stated that the FY25 will witness MECL’s commitment to building an even more diverse profile of minerals in the nation and beyond.

The Ministry of Mines is responsible for the exploration and surveying of minerals, excluding natural gas and petroleum, that are used in mining and metallurgy. It conducts searches for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, zinc, lead, gold, nickel, and more. The Ministry administers the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (MMDR Act) for all mines and minerals, except for coal and lignite. The Ministry of Mines has one attached office, one subordinate office, three public sector undertakings (PSUs), three autonomous bodies, and additional agencies working under its support.
