MSDE & GATI Foundation Partner to Boost Global Skills & Jobs for India

New Delhi, 12 March 2026: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the GATI Foundation to strengthen global skill mobility and create structured overseas employment opportunities for India’s workforce.

The partnership aims to:

  • Develop a data-driven roadmap for overseas skilling initiatives.

  • Establish a Project Management Unit at Kaushal Bhawan to oversee international skill programs.

  • Support Skill India International Centres (SIICs) to provide structured global employment pathways.

Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary of MSDE, emphasized that India’s demographic dividend can become a global economic advantage only when the workforce is equipped with internationally recognized skills.

The collaboration aligns with the vision of #ViksitBharat2047, which prioritizes skilled human capital as a driver of economic growth, innovation, global competitiveness, inclusivity, and international cooperation. Expanded SIICs and global youth pathways are expected to provide young professionals with exposure to overseas opportunities while enhancing India’s workforce standards on a global scale.
