Consequent to signing this MoU, NLCIL became a Founding Member of IIT Madras Energy Consortium.

NLC India signs an MoU with IIT, Madras

New Delhi: Shri. M Venkatachalam, Director (Power), NLC India Limited signed an MoU with Professor Shri. Manu Santhanam, Dean IC&SR, IIT, Madras on 12.01.2024 to harness Research and Technology, bolstering the Organisation’s efforts towards decarbonisation, sustainability and achievement of Net Zero. 

Shri Nikhil Tambe, CEO, IIT Madras Energy Consortium, Professor Shri. Satyanarayanan Seshadri, Head of Energy Consortium Department, IIT Madras, Shri. A Sathiya Narayanan, DGM/Power Station Engineering, NLCIL, Shri. M Elangovan, DGM/Power Station Engineering, NLCIL were present during the occasion.

Consequent to signing this MoU, NLCIL became a Founding Member of IIT Madras Energy Consortium.

This move is aimed at deepening industry-academia collaboration providing NLCIL access to cutting edge Research and Opportunity to capitalize on potential emerging technologies in the areas of Renewable Energy systems, Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage, Sustainability, etc. providing thrust to the Organisation’s Core Value of “Innovation and Creativity”.

This step assumes significance in the backdrop of accelerated and concerted global efforts to combat climate change and increased push towards adoption of Green Technologies by the Govt. of India.
