NLC India conducts a special workshop

New Delhi: NLC India Limited, jointly with Mining Engineers’ Association of India (TN Chapter) and Tamil Nadu Mines Safety Association (Under the aegis of DGMS, Chennai Region) conducted a special workshop on “Statutory Perspective and Modern Approaches on Slope Stability in Opencast Mines & Dumps” at Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli on 02.02.2024.

The workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Mahesh Chatla, Deputy Director of Mines safety, Chennai Region in the august presence of Shri K. Mohan Reddy, Director/P&P, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director/Mines, Shri I.S. Jasper rose, ED/Mines & Services, SME, Conveyor & Land, Shri. G. Srinivas, ED/Civil & contracts/Mines and other Senior officials of NLCIL.

Various aspects of slope stability in opencast mines were deliberated in detail in different sessions by Shri. Mahesh Chatla (Deputy Director of Mines safety, Chennai Region), Prof. Phalguni Sen (Former HOD, Dept. of Mining Engg., IIT-ISM, Dhanbad), Dr. Shrabani Sen (Environmental Expert, Dhanbad), Shri S.P. Balan and Shri Subrata Chakraborty (Consol Geo Technologies Pvt Limited).

The workshop was attended by 200+ participants including Senior Officials and Executives from NLCIL, Members of MEAI (TN chapter) & TNMSA, students & research scholars from Dept. of Mining Engineering, CEG, Anna university and Annamalai University.
