NLC India Limited Signed Historic MoU with TNC INDIA
NEW DELHI- NLC India Limited (NLCIL) and Nature Conservancy India Solutions Private Ltd. (TNC India) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 26.04.2023 to collaborate on research work related to repurposing mined-out lands for renewable energy, exploring carbon mitigation potential and carbon markets.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director/NLCIL by Shri Rajasekhara Reddy, Executive Director (Mines), NLCIL and Dr. Annapurna Vancheswaran, Managing Director, TNC India, at Corporate Office of NLCIL, Neyveli.

This MoU further strengthens the endeavour of NLCIL to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change in line with India's commitment under CoP 26 for a transition to a low-carbon economy and increased use of renewable energy sources.
Under the aegis of Ministry of Coal, NLCIL plans to repurpose its mined-out lands by establishing renewable energy projects and to take actions for mitigating carbon emissions.
The SiteRight tool developed by TNC and its partner will help in determining the suitability of the land to be used for Renewable Energy projects.

The collaboration is expected to benefit both parties and contribute to India's goal towards clean energy transition and tackle climate change.
