Enhancement of product delivery at Siliguri through NSPL will facilitate POL marketing to a broader market, fuelling India’s growth trajectory in the Amrit Kaal.

NRL and OIL signs long term agreement

New Delhi: A new long-term agreement was signed between NRL and OIL for enhanced capacity of petroleum product transportation through OIL’s Numaligarh Siliguri Product Pipeline (NSPL). Director Operations OIL Mr. Pankaj Kumar Goswami and Director Finance NRL Mr. Sanjay Choudhuri signed the Agreement in New Delhi on 20-05-24 in the presence of MD, NRL Mr. Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan and senior officers of both companies.

The existing NSPL pipeline capacity of 1.72 MMTPA is being augmented by OIL to 5.5 MMTPA for transportation of additional volume of products post NRL’s Refinery expansion from 3 to 9 MMTPA at an investment of Rs. 860 Crore

Numaligarh Siliguri product pipeline (NSPL), commissioned in 2008-09 by NRL is the lifeline for evacuating products from NRL’s refinery in Numaligarh to its Marketing Terminal in Siliguri for onward distribution to various consumption centres in eastern and northern India. Since 2023, products delivered through NSPL at Siliguri is being further exported by NRL using the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline. Enhancement of product delivery at Siliguri through NSPL will facilitate POL marketing to a broader market, fuelling India’s growth trajectory in the Amrit Kaal.
