NTPC REL solar and wind energy projects in Gujarat boosting renewable energy capacity
Mumbai, August 20, 2025: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a fully owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has announced the start of commercial operations for two major renewable energy projects in Gujarat.
The fourth phase of the Khavda-I Solar PV Project, with a capacity of 212.5 MW out of a total of 1,255 MW, has officially begun operations under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III, starting August 20, 2025.

In addition, a 52.8 MW wind capacity from a total of 92.4 MW wind and 37.5 MW solar parts of a 100 MW hybrid project by Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. and a partnership with ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, has started commercial operations as of August 21, 2025.
These achievements highlight NTPC's determination to grow its renewable energy presence and support India's shift to a sustainable energy future.
