Oil India signs MoU with Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology
The MoU is the first step towards collaboration between OIL and RGIPT for land lease and other agreements to set up and operate a 5 TPD CBG plant
New Delhi: Oil India Limited and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the “Industry-Academia collaboration project on establishment of a compressed biogas (CBG) Plant.”
Managing Director of NRL Shri B.J. Phukan and Director-RGIPT Professor A.S.K. Sinha were the signatories for the MoU at a signing ceremony organised on 2nd December 2023 at NRL Center, Guwahati.

The MoU is the first step towards collaboration between OIL and RGIPT for land lease and other agreements to set up and operate a 5 TPD CBG plant at the premises of Assam Energy Institute (AEI), Sibsagar which is a centre of RGIPT Jais (UP).

OIL and RGIPT would work towards providing technical and administrative support, and R&D initiatives within the realm of Biogas and its derivatives.
The feedstock proposed for the CBG plant would be a mix of cow dung, market waste and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).
