Over 6,000 Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) from the Goa and Pune Regions assembled in Kolhapur today for a GDS Sammelan chaired by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.
Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister lauded the dedication and commitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks, describing them as the backbone of India Post’s extensive rural network. He highlighted their vital role in connecting remote communities and ensuring the delivery of essential postal, banking and insurance services at the grassroots level.
The Sammelan served as a platform to recognise the invaluable contribution of GDS personnel in strengthening last-mile connectivity and supporting inclusive development across rural India. The event also underscored the Government’s continued focus on empowering frontline postal workers to enhance service delivery and expand financial inclusion through India Post.
