PM Modi Inaugurates MCL's 4 projects worth Rs 2,145 cr

Odisha: Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated 04 projects worth Rs 2,145 crore of Coal India subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in a function at Sambalpur, Odisha. These projects include Bhubaneswari phase-I coal handling plant (CHP) silo, Lajkura CHP - rapid loading system, Doubling of Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega rail line, and Ib-Valley washery.

The CHP and rail line projects will facilitate eco-friendly and swift transportation of coal, while the washery will contribute to enhancing the quality of coal. The washery, with a 10 million tonne per annum (MTPA) coal-washing capacity, is also the largest washery of Coal India.

Shri Raghubar Das, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patanaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Ashwani Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics & IT, Shri Bishweswar Tudu, Hon’ble Minister of State for Jal Shakti & Tribal Affairs, Shri P.M. Prasad, Chairman, Coal India, Shri Uday A. Kaole, CMD, MCL and senior management of MCL were present on the occasion.
