RailTel is preparing to bid for the KAVACH system in locomotives, a government tender worth over Rs 7,000 crore, opening on September 19.

Railtel has bagged an order worth Rs 48.7 crore from the Health Insurance TPA of India Ltd. The order is for the integrated claims management solution portal and mobile application. It is expected to be completed by June 14, 2030.

RailTel is preparing to bid for the KAVACH system in locomotives, a government tender worth over Rs 7,000 crore, opening on September 19.

RailTel shares were trading 0.63% lower at Rs 466.75 apiece at 12.20 pm on Tuesday, September 17. The stock has gained 32.11% this year, so far.

Sanjay Kumar, chairman and managing director of the company, said many other tenders are also coming. "LTE tender, which was floated sometime back, for now, has been put on hold by the government of India, Ministry of Railways, maybe because they are giving priority to KAVACH tenders finalization first. But Navratna, per se, since we were not eligible earlier, we were not looking for such tenders, but certainly now we will be focusing on such tenders also in the future," he said.
