Romania Ratifies Framework Agreement of International Solar Alliance
New Delhi, March 6, 2026: In a significant step towards strengthening global solar cooperation, the Romania officially ratified the Framework Agreement of the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The Instrument of Ratification was presented by Ms. Sena Latif to the Head of Depository, Joint Secretary (ED), Shri P.S. Gangadhar, at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
The ceremony was also attended by Shri Sudhakar Dalela and Ms. Clara Alexandra Volintiru, reflecting the shared commitment of India and Romania to renewable energy cooperation and sustainable development.
Strengthening International Solar Cooperation
Romania’s ratification reinforces the global commitment to harness solar energy as a key driver for clean, sustainable development. The ISA, initiated by India, aims to promote solar energy deployment, facilitate technology transfer, and enhance collaboration between member countries to meet climate goals.
The move is expected to open new avenues for cooperation in solar research, financing of solar projects, and deployment of innovative solar technologies between Romania and ISA member countries, including India.

With Romania joining the ISA framework, the alliance’s vision of a global solar-powered future receives further momentum. It strengthens international partnerships, encourages investment in solar infrastructure, and contributes to achieving global renewable energy targets in line with the Paris Agreement.
