New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the premature repatriation of Shri Ubhap Sengraj, IRS (Customs & Central Excise: 2005), who is currently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Sports Authority of India (SAI), New Delhi, to his parent cadre.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on January 29, 2026, the decision has been taken on personal grounds. The approval includes the condition of an extended “cooling-off” period, as per applicable service rules.
The repatriation was processed following a proposal received from the Department of Sports, which had recommended the move earlier this month. With the approval of the competent authority, Shri Sengraj is expected to be relieved of his duties at SAI and report back to his parent cadre in the Department of Revenue.
The order has been circulated to the concerned ministries and authorities, including the Central Vigilance Commission and the Department of Revenue, for necessary action and record.
