New Delhi: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas addressed a webinar on new opportunities for steel in construction and infrastructure. The webinar is organized by Indian Steel Association and attended by the Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste and captains & experts of the Indian steel industry.
Further, there was a discussion on the steel sector's role in the making of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. "The Covid-19 pandemic threw challenges our way, but India is coming out of it. Our scientific fervor has been a major facilitator in ensuring seamless functioning in the post-Covid era, including driving our vaccination rollout, one of the largest drives in the world," said Shri Pradhan.
PM Modi's target to make India a $5 trillion economy can only be achieved by the infrastructure development, focusing on creating a modern best-in-class infrastructure for a 21st century India. Whether it is roads, railways, housing, or oil and gas, infrastructure is being strengthened in every sector at an unprecedented pace.
The Rs 20-lakh-crore Aatmanirbhar Bharat package stresses boosting infrastructure, generating new opportunities for our steel sector.

Nurturing our domestic market will help our steel industry. Steel can be a catalyst for the well-being of people and a major driver of employment generation by making it a material of choice. Driving mass consumption of steel will bring greater strength to society, he further said.
