New Delhi: GRSE is consciously working towards improving productivity from an overall perspective, taking every step required to improve efficiency & reduce timelines. 

 

An open hard stand storage facility of total area 30 mtr x 17 mtr / 510 Sqm, to facilitate Production activities of Yard 3023, the 2nd P17A ship under construction, was inaugurated on 20 Oct 2020, alongside Dry Dock1 Eastern Corridor of Main Unit of GRSE. 
 
 
This concrete hard stand can take load of up to 19.60 MT/Sqm, such that ship construction blocks weighing approx. 25 tons to 40 tons can be temporarily placed in line, prior erection on the Dock Floor. Such a facility aids in avoiding waste of precious production time and in turn improves the efficiency in the ship construction process.
 
 
The facility was inaugurated by GRSE Workman, Shri Shyamal Kumar Santra, Welder, SK I. CMD GRSE, Rear Admiral VK Saxena, IN(Retd.), Director (Shipbuilding), Cmde S Nayyar, IN(Retd.), Director (Personnel), Cmde P Hari, IN(Retd.) & other senior officials were present on the occasion. A similar facility was inaugurated beside the Modern Hull Shop, Main Works, GRSE on 12 Oct 2020.
