TRAI releases Telecom Services Report of December-end quarter
As per the report, among these subscribers, the number of wired internet subscribers are 38.57 million, while 897.59 million access the internet wirelessly.
New Delhi: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday released the “Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicator Report” for the quarter ending December 31, 2023. The report shows a significant increase in the total number of internet subscribers, surging from 918.19 million in September 2023 to 936.16 million in December 2023, marking a quarterly growth of 1.96%.
As per the report, among these subscribers, the number of wired internet subscribers are 38.57 million, while 897.59 million access the internet wirelessly.

However, the narrowband internet subscriber base declined from 33.19 million to 31.62 million during the same period. Wireline teledensity during this period rose from 2.22% to 2.28%, reflecting a quarterly growth rate of 2.56%.

On a year-on-year basis, the monthly ARPU for wireless services jumped by 8.09% during this quarter.
