TVS Motor Board Gets Stronger with New Independent Director Appointment

TVS Motor Company Limited has announced a key board-level appointment with the induction of Ms Kalpana Unadkat as an Additional Director and Non-Executive Independent Director of the company. The appointment was approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on December 15, 2025, and will be effective from the same date, subject to shareholders’ approval through postal ballot.

Ms Kalpana Unadkat has been appointed for a period of five consecutive years. The company confirmed that she is not related to any director on the board and is not debarred from holding the office of director by any regulatory authority, including SEBI.

A seasoned legal and governance professional, Ms Unadkat brings over 25 years of cross-border legal experience and more than a decade of boardroom exposure. She is dual-qualified as a solicitor in India and the UK and has previously served as a senior partner at Khaitan & Co. and as Co-Head of Ashurst’s India Practice in London.

Her expertise spans cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance. She currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Avenue Supermarts (DMart), TVS Credit Services, and Eris Lifesciences.

TVS Motor stated that the appointment aligns with its focus on strengthening corporate governance, board effectiveness, and long-term value creation. The Board meeting approving the appointment commenced at 10:20 AM and concluded at 10:55 AM (IST).
