Hyderabad: India’s prominent public sector enterprise, NMDC conducts training program during its campaign for Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. The company’s Chief Vigilance Officer Shri B. Vishwanath laid down the directives for the observance of VAW 2023 from the Central Vigilance Commission, upholding equitable, ethical, and sustainable progress.

Addressing the employees, Shri Vishwanath said, “VAW 2023 encourages public servants to harness the benefits of technology in enhancing both efficiency and accountability. He asked the participants to utilize the capacity building sessions being organized as per CVC directives to enhance their knowledge.”

The program started on Thursday with an interactive session on “Preventive Vigilance - Ethics & Governance” by Corporate Coach Shri Himanshu Vishnoi. 

Taking the participants through Corporate Governance to Good Governance to Ethical Governance, he emphasized on the role integrity plays at the workplace.

Shri P Sarath Kumar, CA, conducted the following session on “Personal Finance Management”, guiding the company employees towards planning their finances through diversification of investments and avoiding various financial and banking frauds in the current scenario.

In the backdrop of the ever-increasing threat of cyber-attacks, hacking and ransomwares, Shri P Krishna Sastry, Executive Director, Cyber Security Services talked to the participants on “Cyber Hygiene and Security” on Friday. He educated the employees on the various cyber hygiene practices that must be adopted for personal and corporate cyber security.

The final session of the workshop was conducted by Shri C.M. Basha, Senior Law Officer (Retired) on “Arbitration and Alternate Dispute Resolution” focusing on facets of Conciliation and Arbitration. Commenting on the occasion, Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge) said, “As we institutionalize our commitment to integrity, we invite our stakeholders to adopt a zero-tolerance approach to unethical practices and contribute to the objective of a ‘Corruption-Free India’ in the auspicious ‘Amrit Kaal’.”

Joining the campaign for VAW 2023, NMDC’s Senior Management is encouraging the employees to strengthen the company’s culture of transparency and vigilance. Director (Production) Shri Dilip Kumar Mohanty highlighted the importance of Arbitration, record keeping and regular correspondence with contractors in a time-bound manner. 

Director (Commercial) Shri Vishwanath Suresh focused on implementing ethical practices in the work culture. Director (Technical) Shri Vinay Kumar emphasized on Cyber Security and methods to implement them on a daily basis.
