Power Stock, JSW Energy has received a letter of award from the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd to develop and operate a 1,600 MW greenfield super/ultra super critical domestic coal-based thermal power plant.
The plant will utilize the domestic linkage coal allocated to West Bengal under the SHAKTI B (iv) policy, the company said in an exchange filing. After this, JSW Energy's total locked-in generation capacity is 30 GW, including 9 GW thermal capacity.
"With this, the company is well positioned to achieve its target of 20 GW generation capacity significantly before 2030," it said.
JSW Energy shares were trading 5.5% higher at Rs 495.65 apiece on Wednesday, February 5. The stock has fallen 28.12% in the last six months.
