Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd resumes operations at 2.00 MTPA Iron Ore Pellet Plant in Raipur
New Delhi: Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd. (GPIL) has officially announced that the company has resumed the normal operations at its 2.00 MTPA iron ore pellet plant in Raipur.
This has reference to our earlier intimation dated 14.07.2026, vide which we had informed about temporarily suspending production in the 2.0 MnT Iron Ore Pellet Plant situated at phase II, Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. In this regard, we would now like to inform you that in view of improved market conditions, production in the said iron ore pellet plant resumed normally, the company informed the exchanges.
The temporary halt on July 14, 2026, was followed due to high natural gas costs following GAIL's supply curtailments and regulatory price hikes, alongside monsoon-related lower iron ore production from the Ari Dongri Mines, which made processing economically unviable. However, driven by the improved market dynamics, cost structures have stabilized, allowing the Godawari Power and Ispat Limited facility to bring operations back online safely and profitably.
Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL) is a fully integrated steel and power company based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
