Tata Power Shareholders Approve All Resolutions at 107th AGM, Dividend Cleared
Mumbai, July 7: Tata Power shareholders have approved all seven resolutions placed before them at the company’s 107th Annual General Meeting (AGM), reflecting strong investor support for the company's governance and financial proposals. The virtual AGM was held through video conferencing, with all resolutions passing by the required majority.
One of the key decisions taken during the meeting was the approval of the dividend for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, which received overwhelming shareholder support with 99.9996% votes in favour. Shareholders also approved the standalone and consolidated financial statements for FY26.
The AGM also cleared the reappointment of Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, who retired by rotation and offered himself for another term. His resolution received 95.82% shareholder approval, while two new independent directors—Nishi Vasudeva and Deepak Kapoor—were appointed after their special resolutions were passed with 99.85% and 94.41% votes in favour, respectively.
Another proposal relating to the ratification of the Cost Auditor's remuneration also received near-unanimous approval, with 99.99% votes supporting the resolution.
The meeting, chaired by N. Chandrasekaran, began at 10:30 AM and concluded at 12:44 PM. During the AGM, Chairman Chandrasekaran and CEO & Managing Director Dr. Praveer Sinha highlighted the company’s financial performance, growth strategy, renewable energy expansion, sustainability initiatives, and progress in solar cell and module manufacturing.
A total of 145 shareholders attended the AGM through video conferencing, including six members from the promoter group. Voting was conducted through remote e-voting and electronic voting during the meeting, with participation from more than 2.30 billion votes, representing around 72% of the company's equity share capital.
The successful approval of all resolutions reflects continued shareholder confidence in Tata Power’s leadership, governance practices, and long-term growth strategy as the company continues to expand its clean energy portfolio and strengthen its position in India's power sector.
