Shri Asangba Chuba Ao, a 2003-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as the joint secretary in the Civil Aviation Ministry. He replaces Usha Padhee and will serve a tenure of five years12. Notably, Ao is the first male Naga IAS officer from Nagaland to hold a post at the level of Joint Secretary in a Union Government Ministry3. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is responsible for formulating and implementing national policies and programs for the development and regulation of civil aviation in India.
