Commodore A. Madhavarao (Retd.) is the current Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). He assumed this role on July 20, 2023. Commodore Madhavarao joined BDL in March 2020 as an Executive Director and was later appointed as Director (Technical) with the additional charge of Director (Production). Before joining BDL, Commodore Madhavarao had a distinguished career in the Indian Navy, where he served in various capacities, including as a Commodore. His extensive experience in defense and technical operations has been instrumental in his leadership at BDL, where he oversees the production and development of guided missile systems and allied equipment for the Indian Armed Forces. Under his leadership, BDL has continued to enhance its capabilities and expand its product portfolio, contributing significantly to India’s defense sector. His strategic vision and commitment to innovation have positioned BDL as a key player in the defense manufacturing industry
