NEW DELHI- As many as 576 employees of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant were felicitated with the prestigious Nehru Awards at a glittering function held at Nehru House of Culture, Bhilai on 10th December, 2022. The Nehru Awards are the highest recognition that the SAIL-BSP management confers upon its employees as reward for their exemplary performance, contribution, sincerity & dedication.

Thirty four (34) executives received the individual Jawahar Award while 61 non-executive employees received the individual Nehru Award. A total of 481 employees in 61 groups received the Jawaharlal Nehru Awards. The awardees received certificate and cash rewards.

Sharing the dais with Director I/c were Shri Anjani Kumar, ED (Works), Shri Tapan Sutradhar, ED (Mines), Shri M M Gadre, ED (P&A),  Shri S Mukhopadhyay, ED (Projects), Dr AK Panda, ED (Finance) and Dr. M Ravindranath, CMO I/c (M & HS).

Director I/c, Shri Anirban Dasgupta and Executive Directors gave away the awards. Congratulating recipients of the Nehru Awards, Director I/c, Shri Dasgupta said that the Plant management confers Nehru awards upon its employees as reward for their sincerity, dedication and contribution. The winners today represent their respective teams. It is my belief that you all must act as Safety Leaders in the Plant and Mines in order to increase production and productivity, he said. We must move forward in Modex projects and work towards reducing CO2 emission, he added.

Family members and other colleagues were able to witness the function virtually, as the link was made available to them to join online. At the outset, winners of Nehru awards and guests invited were welcomed by Ms Nisha Soni, CGM (Personnel).

The programme was compered by Shri J N Thakur, GM (Pers.-IR & CLC) while the Citations were read out by Ms Anuradha Saha, Mgr (MPS & Rectt) and Ms. Nisha Baul, Manager (Pers.-HRIS). Also present at the Nehru Awards ceremony were office bearers of OA, and representatives of Workers Union and SC/ ST association.
