BPCL Mumbai Refinery achieves milestone in large scale urban greening
BPCL Mumbai Refinery marks a green milestone as Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde inaugurates Thane’s Oxygen Park at Vartak Nagar.

New Delhi: In a social media post, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has announced that BPCL Mumbai Refinery has achieved a significant green milestone as the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde ji, inaugurated Thane’s ‘Oxygen Park’ at Vartak Nagar, in the presence of Shri Mahendra Kumar, CGM (HR), MR; Shri S. Shrivastava, GM (Projects); and Shri Atul Vyawahare, GM (Environment, PSM & QMS).
As part of BPCL’s 50th year celebrations and in alignment with National Pollution Control Day and the Government of India’s LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative, BPCL supported large-scale urban greening through a CER-funded tree plantation programme.
With the contribution of 500+ bamboo saplings to this unique Oxygen Park and 50,000+ saplings to Thane Municipal Corporation, BPCL continues to strengthen ecological balance, biodiversity, and community partnerships, it added.
