New Delhi, June 17, 2026: The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) hosted a high-level delegation from the Federative Republic of Brazil to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sectors of India and Brazil.

The Brazilian delegation comprised Mr. Getulio Vaz, Senior Analyst at SEBRAE, Brazil; Mr. Bruno Peixinho from the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Micro Enterprise and Small Business (MEMP); and Mr. Bruno Berrettini Campones do Brasil, Deputy Head of Secom, Trade and Investment Promotion Sector, Embassy of Brazil.

The visiting delegation was received by Dr. S. S. Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director of NSIC, and Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance).

Focus on Entrepreneurship, Skill Development and Technology Transfer

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on strengthening India-Brazil collaboration in the MSME sector and identified several areas of mutual interest. Key focus areas included entrepreneurship promotion, capacity building, skill development, technology transfer, and fostering stronger business linkages between MSMEs of the two countries.

The interaction also served as a platform for sharing best practices and exploring mechanisms for institutional cooperation aimed at promoting innovation and sustainable growth in the MSME ecosystem.

 

Delegation Visits NSIC Technical Services Centre in Okhla

The Brazilian representatives were also taken on a guided tour of NSIC's Technical Services Centre at Okhla, New Delhi, where they were briefed on the corporation's initiatives in skill development, entrepreneurship support, and technical services.

Officials showcased various programmes designed to enhance the competitiveness, productivity, and technological capabilities of MSMEs, highlighting NSIC's role in supporting India's small business sector through training and capacity-building initiatives.

 

Boosting India-Brazil Economic Engagement

The visit underscores the growing economic and institutional ties between India and Brazil and reflects the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening cooperation in entrepreneurship and MSME development. Enhanced collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for businesses, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote innovation-driven growth.
