Indigenization & airworthiness Certification of superalloys, titanium alloys & special steels by MIDHANI for the advanced aero engine

Hyderabad, 28 October 2025: Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited has taken up the challenges of indigenous development and certification of various critical superalloys, titanium alloys and special steels for advanced aero engine for HAL, Koraput. MIDHANI has completed in this span, material level development for 50 % of total alloy systems, out of which 80% alloy systems are certified and balance alloys are at advanced level of development.

Chief Executive, CEMILAC has handed over to CMD MIDHANI, a certificate which has accorded clearance for series production of these alloys suitable for manufacturing of airworthy components for aero engines. MIDHANI has exhibited successfully developed and produced mill-forms & forgings of various nickle based superalloys, titanium alloys and special steels. These alloys are used in the fabrication of various performance critical components of the aero engines.

In the past one-year, MIDHANI has augmented state of the art production facilities like new Titanium shop increasing airworthy titanium alloy production capacity, near - isothermal forge press of 6000T capacity, revamping Vacuum Induction Melting furnaces making it suitable for manufacturing large volumes of remelt stock and master heats of single crystal superalloys. Chief executive, CEMILAC has appreciated and encouraged MIDHANI to take the indigenization and certification in fast-track approach to meet the deadline of accelerated material testing of aero engine, to keep fleet flying with indigenous by developed materials.
