The Pay conflict between workers and executives in CIL already existed since the 2nd PRC, hence it is a step to remove pay conflicts also.

New Delhi: Today on March 24, 2025, a committee meeting convened to recommend a way out to address the issue of up-gradation of pay scales of Executives of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries similar to other Maharatna CPSEs. The discussion point of the meeting will be to remove Pay disparity and pay anomaly in CIL at par with other Maharatna CPSEs.

The issued meeting notice said that the undersigned is directed to inform that a meeting of the Committee constituted to recommend a way-out to address the issue of up-gradation of pay scales of Executives of CIL/its subsidiaries scheduled to be held on 24.03.2025 (Monday) in the Conference Room (Room No.321, A-Wing), of the Ministry of Coal at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi.

Upon persuasion of Coal Mines Officers' Association of India headed by daktara Sahoo., Jt Secretary General CMOAI Apex and General Secretary, CMOAI, MCL at MoC and CIL level and in keeping view of Court cases filed at different high courts, this committee has been constituted by Ministry of Coal where Joint secretary, coal will be the chairperson and three members from CIL i. e. DP CIK, DP MCL and DP NCL are members to find out a way to remove pay disparity and adopt a scale of pay at par with other Maharatna CPSEs.
