Coal India total production shows mild growth in April 2025, stood at 62.1 MT

For April 2025, Maharatna PSU Coal India Ltd has released its preliminary production and off-take results. Coal India produced 62.1 million tonnes (MT) of coal in April 2025, according to the exchange filing. Compared to the production of 61.8 MT during the same period last year, this indicates a marginal growth of 0.5%.

Some subsidiaries, such as CCL (-2.1%), WCL (-0.7%), and SECL (-0.8%), saw a minor decline in production, though. MCL kept up its production level from the previous year, while ECL and BCCL displayed modest growth of 1.5% and 1.6%, respectively.

In April 2025, Coal India's total offtake was 63.4 MT. In comparison to the 64.2 MT off-take in April 2024, this represents a 1.2% drop. The off-take performance of each subsidiary varied. Positive growth rates of 1.2% and 2.0% were recorded by CCL and NCL, respectively, and 2.7% by WCL.

However, compared to the same period last year, off-take decreased for ECL (-3.4%), BCCL (-7.2%), SECL (-2.6%), MCL (-2.8%), and NEC (-50.0%)
