Mumbai, February 24, 2026: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has awarded a prestigious order worth ₹66 crore to Centum Electronics Limited for the design and development of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar Systems for the Utility Helicopter–Maritime (UH-M) platform.

The development was disclosed by Centum Electronics under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 to NSE (Scrip Symbol: CENTUM) and BSE (Scrip Code: 517544).

Phase-1 Order Details

The current contract covers Phase-1, involving design and development of AESA radar systems over the next two financial years.

Phase-1 Order Value:

  • ₹66 crore (Purchase Order value)

  • ₹78 crore (Gross value including GST)

The AESA Radar System will enable the UH-M helicopter to detect, classify, and track multiple maritime targets, significantly enhancing surveillance and operational capabilities in maritime missions.

Phase-2 May Unlock ₹500 Crore Opportunity

Following successful execution of Phase-1, the programme is expected to progress to Phase-2, which includes serial production and supply over five years.

Phase-2 (Indicative Value):

  • Estimated ₹500 crore

  • Approximately ₹590 crore (Gross including GST)

If fully executed, the total programme could exceed ₹566 crore (excluding GST), positioning it as a major long-term opportunity for Centum Electronics.

Strategic Significance

This order highlights HAL’s continued push toward advanced indigenous defence technologies and reinforces Centum’s growing capabilities in system-level radar design, development, and high-reliability electronics manufacturing.

The AESA radar programme further strengthens the long-standing collaboration between HAL and Centum in mission-critical aerospace and defence electronics.
