Hindustan Copper Restructures Senior Management Promotes Four to GM Rank
New Delhi: Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has announced the promotion of four senior executives to the position of General Manager (GM) across key functional areas of the company. The promotions were approved on 23 January 2026, and the relevant documents were received on 24 January 2026, the company informed stock exchanges.
The disclosure was made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The company clarified that all the above executives fall under the category of ‘Senior Management’ as defined under Regulation 16(1)(d) of the SEBI LODR Regulations. None of them are related to any Director or Key Managerial Personnel of Hindustan Copper Limited.

Shri Salil Kumar Nag – GM (Mining), Corporate Office
Shri Salil Kumar Nag holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and joined Hindustan Copper Limited in 1995 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (Mining). He began his career at the Khetri Copper Complex, gaining extensive experience in underground metal mining, including both track and trackless mining systems.
Over the years, he has developed strong expertise in underground mine planning and operations and played a key role in the mine expansion programmes of the company. He has also served as Mine Planner at the Kolihan Copper Mine, contributing significantly to operational efficiency.
Shri Virender Kumar Indra – GM (Metallurgy), Khetri Copper Complex
Shri Virender Kumar Indra is a seasoned metallurgical professional with over 30 years of experience in the metals and mining sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from NIT Rourkela (1992 batch).
He began his career at Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL, in 1993 and joined Hindustan Copper Limited in 1996 as Senior Process Engineer (Metallurgy). During his tenure at HCL, he has held several key leadership roles, including operations and optimization of the KCC Smelter, Production Head at Gujarat Copper Project, and Head of Concentrator and Concentrate Dispatch at KCC.
Shri Sanjay Shivdarshi – GM (Administration), Khetri Copper Complex
Shri Sanjay Shivdarshi is a highly experienced HR and Administration professional, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree and an LLB. He began his career with CISF under the Ministry of Home Affairs (1991–1995) and joined Hindustan Copper Limited in 1995.
During his career at HCL, he has served across multiple units including Indian Copper Complex (ICC), Taloja Copper Project, and Malanjkhand Copper Project, handling HR, security, law, and administrative functions. He was promoted to GM (Administration) and Head of HR & Administration at Khetri Copper Complex on 23 January 2026.
Known for his strong leadership, coordination with government authorities, and crisis management skills, Shri Shivdarshi has played a key role in addressing security challenges, resolving land issues, administrative reforms, and reopening of mines.
Shri Dinesh Grover – GM (Finance), Corporate Office
Shri Dinesh Grover is a Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), a qualified Company Secretary, and holds a B.Com (Hons.) from Delhi University, along with a Diploma in Financial Management. He brings over 35 years of diverse experience across finance, audit, costing, corporate accounts, and treasury functions.
At Hindustan Copper Limited, he has held several leadership roles, including Deputy General Manager (Finance), managing financial operations of a business with an annual turnover of approximately ₹2,300 crore. As Marketing Finance Head, he handled pricing, budgeting, revenue management, and financial risk.
He has extensive experience in fund management, liaison with banks, interaction with C&AG, GST authorities, EPFO, and both Central and State Governments. He has also represented HCL as part of a Government of India delegation to Dubai.
