New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has announced a significant milestone in the development of its joint venture project, HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited, confirming the achievement of the Commercial Operations Date (COD) on 22 June 2026.

The disclosure was made through an official regulatory filing submitted to both the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited under the company’s corporate communication reference number Co.Secy./RKS/216/2026 dated 23 June 2026.

 

Commissioning of Crude Distillation Unit and Downstream Facilities

The milestone follows the earlier commencement of operations of the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) and associated downstream processing units at the refinery complex.

In accordance with the Rupee Term Loan Facility Agreement, HRRL formally declared the Actual Date of Commencement of Commercial Operations to its lead banker, the State Bank of India.

Subsequently, SBI confirmed the declaration through its official communication dated 23 June 2026, formally taking note of the COD achievement.

Strategic Milestone for India’s Refining Sector

The commencement of commercial operations at HRRL represents a major step forward in India’s energy infrastructure development. The refinery project is one of the key strategic joint ventures aimed at strengthening domestic refining capacity and improving petroleum product supply security in the region.
