IRFC's Expanding Role Beyond Railways

IRFC was established in 1986 as the dedicated financing arm of the Ministry of Railways. The company is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).

Over the years, IRFC has expanded its footprint as a diversified infrastructure financier. Its mandate now extends to sectors linked to the railway ecosystem.

These sectors include power generation, transmission, mining, fuel and coal, logistics, and urban transport.

Recent Major Financing Activities

This Rs 1,000 crore disbursal comes close on the heels of a much larger transaction. IRFC recently signed a Rs 12,842 crore loan agreement with Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL).

That agreement further demonstrates IRFC's growing presence in financing core infrastructure projects beyond the railway sector.

Zero NPA Portfolio Maintained

IRFC continues to maintain a strong asset quality profile. The company proudly maintains a zero Non-Performing Assets (NPA) portfolio.

This financial discipline is notable even as IRFC scales up its presence across allied infrastructure segments. The company balances growth ambitions with prudent risk management.

Deepening Engagement Across Infrastructure

The CMD added that IRFC will continue to deepen its engagement across infrastructure sectors. The company will do this while maintaining financial discipline.

Dubey noted that together, IRFC and its partners will ensure that this year is defined by strong partnerships and outstanding performance. All of this will remain aligned with IRFC's core mandate.
