New Delhi: Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Shri Lakhpat Singh Chaudhary is on a two-day visit to WCL on 19th and 20th May, 2025. On the first day of his visit (19.05.2025 ), he reviewed the performance of Western Coalfields Limited at WCL headquarters. He suggested that WCL should prepare to contribute more in meeting the energy needs of the nation by using new technology. He said that new possibilities should be explored to increase profitability and innovation should be promoted in the current working system.

In his interaction, Shri Chaudhary emphasized on production, productivity, quality of coal, safety in mining operations etc. He praised WCL's CSR work wholeheartedly.

In the review meeting, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL Shri J.P. Dwivedi presented details of the various activities of the company. Director Technical (Operations) Shri A.K. Singh, Director (Finance) Shri Bikram Ghosh, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, the General Manager and department heads of the headquarters were present.

After the review meeting, Shri Chaudhary reviewed the Integrated Command and Control Center located at the headquarters. Thereafter, he visited the Umred area and inspected the mines of the area. He inspected MKD- 3 Dinesh mine and First Mail Connectivity Project. He held detailed discussions with Kshatriya management on the possibilities of better execution of work. On the second day of his visit, he will visit Saoner underground mine, Eco Park etc. of Nagpur area of ??WCL.
