Keralam LPG Supply Review: No Cause for Worry

New Delhi: Amid recent rumours about LPG shortages in Keralam, top officials from oil marketing companies (OMCs) held an emergency review with the state government. Shri Sanjay Khanna, C&MD of BPCL, met the Chief Secretary to assess supply levels and preparedness. The meeting confirmed that stocks are sufficient and there is no reason for public concern.

OMCs have taken multiple steps to keep LPG supply steady. These include global procurement of LPG, running refineries at higher capacity, and boosting LPG production. Logistics coordination has also been improved to strengthen last-mile delivery.

The Chief Secretary appreciated the coordinated efforts by OMCs. He stated that the situation remains well under control, with no major concerns reported across the state. Authorities assured that consumers will not face any disruption.

Shri Khanna also held discussions with the State Level Coordinator for OMCs. The meeting focused on supply, logistics, and distributor-level readiness. Officials reviewed ground-level preparations and reinforced coordinated response systems.
 

During interactions with LPG distributors and OMC officials, Khanna stressed the importance of digital booking systems. He also highlighted OTP-based delivery authentication to improve transparency and delivery accuracy.

The C&MD reviewed the State LPG War Room, which monitors real-time demand, supply, and fuel stock positions. The system helps OMCs track shortages and respond quickly to any local issues.

OMCs reiterated their commitment to customer service. They confirmed that all possible efforts are being made to ensure adequate LPG stocks. Consumers are advised not to believe rumours and are assured of uninterrupted supply.
