NHPC CMD Bhupender Gupta Felicitates Sports Scholars and Medal-Winning Employees on National Sports Day 2026

New Delhi: Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC, felicitated NHPC’s Sports Scholars and Medal-Winning NHPC Employees for their outstanding achievements at a special programme organized at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad on 28.08.2026, to commemorate National Sports Day.

The programme was organized in alignment with the three-day nationwide campaign being observed from 28th to 30th August 2026 under the aegis of the Sports Authority of India and the Fit India Movement, commemorating the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
 

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the achievers in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments across various sporting disciplines. Addressing the gathering, Shri Gupta underscored the importance of sports in promoting fitness, discipline, determination and a spirit of excellence.

He encouraged everyone to make fitness an integral part of their daily lives and lauded NHPC’s sportspersons for their dedication and performances, which have brought pride to the organization. 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Paresh Ranpara, Director (Personnel), highlighted NHPC’s continued commitment towards promoting sports and nurturing sporting talent. He also spoke about organization’s Sports Policy and various initiatives aimed at encouraging employees and young sportspersons to excel at different levels. 

The event was also graced by Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects); Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), Shri Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Director (Finance) and Shri Santosh Kumar, CVO, NHPC, along with senior officers and employees.
