New Delhi: NHPC’s 2,880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project has achieved a major construction milestone with 550 meters of heading excavation completed in its Diversion Tunnels as of November 2025.
The project is currently advancing five tunnels, each with a 12-meter diameter, totaling 6.3 km in length.
Despite challenging and varied geological conditions, this progress represents a significant step forward. Once completed, the Dibang Dam will rank among the tallest concrete gravity dams globally, reinforcing NHPC’s leadership in large-scale hydroelectric and multipurpose infrastructure development.
