NLC India NUPPL Thermal Power Project Nears Completion, Strengthening Northern Grid Capacity
New Delhi: NLC India Limited has announced major progress in the Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL) thermal power project, a strategic joint venture with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL).
The 3×660 MW coal-based thermal power project represents a significant addition to India’s conventional power generation capacity and is poised to play a key role in ensuring reliable electricity supply to the northern region.
Project Progress and Commissioning Status
The project has achieved key commissioning milestones:
- Unit-1 and Unit-2 have already been commissioned
- Unit-3 is in the final stages of commissioning
- The project is now moving steadily towards full operational completion
Once fully operational, the plant will supply dispatchable and dependable power to the northern grid, supporting stable energy availability during peak demand periods.
